![]() ![]() ![]() Their "support" people are by-and-large friendly, but they apparently aren't given the tools to be able to diagnose what ails this product, despite the 8 calls I've been on numerous upgrades (both to the PC and phone) clean wipes of the phone, one-way syncs from PC to phone, and on and on. The product continually deletes appointments from ACT! when syncing (randomly) sometimes duplicates all 1,200 contacts doesn't properly sync from Android to ACT!, and has even corrupted the ACT! database beyond repair, so I literally had to start from scratch all over again. ![]() I've been speaking with their support people for almost a month now, to no avail. Then I switched to an Android-based phone, and these people literally just can't get it to work. When I used it with my blackberry, it worked fine. I was able to delete the extra Calendar folder and have not been able to delete the empty contacts folder.Companionlink just doesn't work on Android pst file to get my contacts back into Outlook. After trying a number of things, I used my backup. Thankfully, I had a recent backup of my Outlook.pst file. There is a feature that shows the count on each - found the 100 contact difference. I only discovered this when I searched the uploaded contacts and just happened to select two that had disappeared (luck was with me there)!Äownloaded the iCloud contacts to my iPhone and still had my Outlook contacts on my iPad. Deleted all my contacts from Outlook and "lost" 100 of my contacts when uploading to iCloud. iCloud contacts and calendar folders were added to Outlook. Second call: insisted on talking to someone who knew iCloud. While helpful, the first guy was not well versed in iCloud. Hours later, including 4+ hours of working with Apple support, here is my report. ![]() This will likely be an Apple deal breaker for me and I will likely switch to Droid or other.Ä«EWARE: Feedback on the iCloud sync solution. I use my Outlook contacts and calendar extensively with my iPhone. Apple would not turnover the info on the US-based account corresponding to that email address that stole my info and demanded payment. I turned the case over to the local police. In my talk with Apple, I came to find out that the email address I'd received in the ransom message was associated with an active US-based iTunes account. Had I not backed up locally - all my stuff would have been gone. ITunes is not secure and the the cloud is not safe and I will never rely on it. One of my intel buddies told me that he is certain iTunes has significant security holes maybe I am captaining the obvious here. I have no idea how someone got into my account. I used DoD-level password complexity, never wrote it down anywhere, and didn't logon at a Starbucks or anything like that and rarely even went into iTunes, period. Fortunately, I had minimal, old data on the cloud and had since began to use iTunes backups to my laptop. Someone hacked into my iCloud to hold my data hostage, changed my password, and sent me a "ransom" message though the find my iPhone feature to provide them large sums of money to release my data. To piggyback on Lucia555's message below.in June 2015, I awoke to my iPhone having been erased (set up your new iPhone message appeared), and once at my PC, I had email messages that someone accessed my iCloud and changed my password. ![]()
